MEMBER GUIDELINES
Winter Guidelines 2024;
Concerts — Concert dates are December 6 in Ellwworth and December 7 in Bar Harbor. The Ellsworth concert is a 7:00 pm with a 5:30 call and the Bar Harbor concert is in Bar Harbor at 4:00 pm with call at 2:30; Dress rehearsals will be on Thursday, December 5 at 7:00 Please note that these concerts and rehearsals are required for singers.
Rehearsals—Tuesday evenings, 7:00-9:00 p.m., at the Ellsworth Unitarian Church Except December 3 which will be at St. Saviour’s in Bar Harbor. The first rehearsal is September 10, 2024
The last rehearasl at the Unitarian Church will be Tuesday, Navember 26 at 7:00.
Masks and COVID Precautions — Masks are not required for rehearsal. This could change as time passes and may be determined by the various venue requirements. If you feel sick, or have been exposed to COVID we request that you stay home from singing as a precaution. If you can let someone when you will be absent, that would be helpful. You can always write to info@acadiachoralsociety.org.
Fees—Dues: $65. (Includes music) Checks are to be made out to the Acadia Choral Society or you may pay online here. . Dues may be paid in two installments; in case of need, scholarships for dues are available. Please contact the chorus treasurer, Gerry Gregersen (gerrykg123@gmail.com), for any special arrangements.
Attendance—You will be allowed three absences per semester. If you know that you will miss two or more rehearsals in a row, please notify us at a rehearsal prior to your absence. Attendance at the dress rehearsals and performances is mandatory. If you must drop out of the chorus for any reason, please email the chorus president, Nancy Roberts. (Note: Exceptions to the three-absences guideline are made at the Director’s discretion. However, please make attendance a top priority. We work most effectively and efficiently when everyone is present.)
Weather cancellations—If a rehearsal will be canceled because of weather, the phone tree will be activated by 3:00 pm, so please be sure that we have a number where you can be reached.
Concert dress—Women: White blouse, black long skirt or black slacks. Men: White long-sleeved shirt, black trousers. Please refrain from wearing perfumes and other products that are scented, as some choir members are sensitive to this. Music should be in a black binder.
