Fall 2026 Performance Schedule – Dress Rehearsals and Concerts

St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church – 175 Downeast Highway, Ellsworth Thursday, Dec 3 – Dress Rehearsal 6:30-8:30pm Friday, Dec 4 – Concert 7pm (Call 5:30pm)
St. Savior’s Episcopal Church – 41 Mt. Desert Street, Bar Harbor Saturday, Dec 5 – Concert 4pm (Call 2:30pm) (Potluck dinner immediately following in the church parish hall)
Concert Dress: Formal All Black
Top: long sleeve or three-quarter length sleeve black top. Tie not required; if you decide to wear one, it should be plain black.
Bottom: black pants or long black skirt. Black socks/tights. Comfortable black shoes.
Please refrain from clothing with sequins, lace, or patterns to create a cohesive look among the singers.
For performances, music should be in a black binder or choral folder, or on a tablet.
For all rehearsals and concerts, please refrain from wearing perfumes and other products that are scented, as some choir members are sensitive to this.
Member Guidelines:
Fees—Dues: $65. (Includes music)
Dues can be paid via check at the first rehearsal or in advance on the website. Checks should be made out to the Acadia Choral Society. Dues may be paid in two installments; in case of need, scholarships for dues are available. Please contact the chorus treasurer, Kristen Mello (kuttspree@gmail.com), for any special arrangements.
Masks and COVID Precautions
Masks are not required for rehearsal. If you feel sick, or have been exposed to COVID we request that you stay home from singing as a precaution.
Attendance
Please make attendance a top priority. We work most effectively and efficiently when everyone is present. Your voice is important to the success of the ensemble.
If you must miss more than 1 rehearsal in a row, please email the chorus president, Nancy Roberts. president@acadiachoralsociety.org
If your total absences are greater than 3, continuance with the group is at the discretion of the director.
Attendance at the dress rehearsals and December performances is mandatory.
If you must drop out of the chorus for any reason, please email the chorus president, Nancy Roberts – president@acadiachoralsociety.org.
Weather Cancellations
In the case of inclement weather, the chorus president and the director will determine if rehearsal should be cancelled. In the event of a cancellation, the phone tree will be activated by 3:00 pm, so please be sure that we have a number where you can be reached. An email will also be sent.

Code of Conduct
The Acadia Choral Society is dedicated to providing a safe, respectful environment in which to enjoy learning and performing beautiful music and creating relationships in community.
Members are expected to act in a respectful and courteous manner toward the director, accompanist, other members, supporting musicians, and audiences. Behavior that is rude, aggressive, intrusive, or otherwise inappropriate will not be tolerated and will lead to termination of membership in the Society.
Members are expected to attend rehearsals and performances and devote time between rehearsals to home study. If members miss more than three rehearsals per semester their continued participation in the Society will be at the discretion of the director. Members should inform the president of the board if they need to miss a rehearsal. Members are expected to dress appropriately for performances as prescribed by the director.
The Artistic Director holds authority in interpreting repertoire, directing rehearsals, determining appropriate voice sections for members, and making decisions about the status of members who miss more than three rehearsals in a semester. The director’s decisions or instructions will not be debated during rehearsals or performances. A member who has a concern may arrange a time before or after rehearsals in which to discuss it with the director and/or the board of directors. Behavior that disrupts rehearsals or performances will not be allowed.
The board is responsible for setting policy and general, administrative decision-making that is in the best interest of the Society. In its decision-making, the board is guided by the interests of the membership as a whole rather than the preferences of any individual member. A member who has a concern can submit it to the board, either in writing or by speaking with board members. Concerns and suggestions will be discussed by the board and feedback to the member will be given in a timely fashion. Members who do not comply with the decision or do not abide by the Code of Conduct will be asked to leave the group.
