SUPPORTING ACS

Music that inspires and strengthens community….

Contributions at this time help sustain us as we begin an exciting new chapter by welcoming Dr. Daniel Pyle as our artistic Director. He also serves as Music Director for St Saviour’s Episcopal Church in Bar Harbor.  We feel lucky to have his outstanding musical skill, knowledge, experience and passion to direct and inspire the ACS singers.

Our December concerts are focused on music for Christmas from the periods that are usually lumped together as “early music.” Compositions from the late Renaissance and early Baroque periods, by composers like Palestrina and Gabriele give the concert a rich flavor and several are based in the antiphon for Christmas morning — Hodie Christus natus est — Today Christ is born.  From this we created the title for this concert, Hodie.

Thank you for supporting Acadia Choral Society and our mission of providing opportunities for high quality live choral music for our audiences and musicians.  We look forward to seeing you at a performance in December.
